Presented by mum of two and popular news reader Natasha Kaplinsky, the RCM Annual Midwifery Awards ceremony was not only touching but it was also very inspiring to hear all the stories linked to the winning midwifery teams and midwives.

Bio-Oil proudly sponsored the award for ‘team of the year’. The three shortlisted teams were all very deserving and admirable in the area they are dedicated to, however the overall winner was The Oasis Team from South London Healthcare NHS Trust. The team’s ethos is to promote and support normal birth and this is clearly reflected in that 98% of women describing their experience said they were ‘extremely happy’.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the runners up for their hard work; Public health midwives integrated health team of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh and the Teenage Pregnancy Team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
